Hit the Stage: Summer Theatre Camp

For the Aspiring Performer

The Bella Rose Arts Centre is calling all young actors, performers, and theatre enthusiasts! This is your chance to jump into the world of theatre. Our camps are led by trained professionals currently working in theatre and experienced in summer camps. We teach text analysis, scene work, performance technique, and improvisation skills to hone the performance abilities of the campers. These classes will always have new content, and the campers will be rehearsing special group performances that will showcase their new skills.

Four Strong Winds

A Celebration of Canadian Music From Sea to Sea To Sea

Boardwalk Productions  under the direction of Edmund MacLean, presents ‘Four Strong Winds’ with some of the most talented Inverness County Musicians celebrating Canada 150 with the best in Canadian music,  at the Bella Rose Art Centre, beginning at 8:00pm.

There is a Gala event starting at 7:00pm outside of the theatre where drinks and a silent auction will take place!

Previously this group of musicians banded together to reenact the infamous Last Waltz.

The Halifax Concert Band

The 44th Annual Spring Concert

The Halifax Concert Band will present their annual spring concert on Tuesday, May 30th, here in the Bella Rose Arts Centre with the concert getting underway at 7:30.

Nova Scotia Suzuki String Ensemble Spring Concert

The Nova Scotia Suzuki Ensemble presents an EXCITING concert this year on May 26th at 6:30pm at the Bella Rose Theater.

The concert will feature over 130 string players and special guest Andrew Dawydchak, fiddle / step dancer from Ontario.

Local Talent Spotlight: West Side Throwdown

Hip-Hop/Rap/R&B Coffee House


Calling all local musical artists and music fans!

Our Local Talent Spotlight series provides artists in our community with an affordable professional performance venue, and on May 17th we're having a Hip-Hop/Rap/R&B style Coffee House!

$5 at the door

There will be beverages and baked goods on sale in the lobby.


Into the Woods Junior

The HRM Student Musical

The Students of HRM were unable to have their own school musicals this year, so they have come together to put on Into the Woods Junior. This special two-show performance offers the talent of HRM's high school students in an abridged version of the hit musical Into the Woods.

Come out an support our local student's love for the arts.


Tickets are

10.00 + Tax for students
15.00 + Tax for adults

A Joined Concert

Halifax West Concert Band and The Halifax Concert Band

The Halifax West High School Concert Band conducted by David Burtt, and the Halifax Concert Band conducted by David Staples, will present a joint concert. Each band will perform selections from their own repertoire, of traditional concert band music , combining to  provide an enjoyable program.

The concert  will take place in the Bella Rose Arts Centre Theatre , Monday May 8th. 7:00 pm. The theatre is  located inside the Halifax West High School 283 Thomas Raddall Drive.  

Admission is free.

JackBox Night

Party Games for Hilarious People

Want to know who is the wittiest of your friends? Find out at Jack Box Night! Bring your phone, bring your charger, we have the wifi, and get ready to rumble! 

We will be playing 

Quiplash: Use your wit to make up your own answers to random questions, and have the audience and your opponent’s decide on to see whose is the best! 

Trivia Murder Party: Answer the trivia, and play mini games for your life and do your best to stay alive!


150 Music Students, 1 Teacher

STRINGS-in-SPRING features all 150 string students from several Halifax West family of schools from grades 4-9. 


A treat for the whole family as there will be a wide variety of music played from different eras and styles.


Free admission and a reception to follow the show.
